The Franklin is the Chilton student newspaper.
At the start of her Junior year, Paris Geller is the editor, and uses her position against her self-proclaimed enemy, Rory Gilmore, by assigning Rory a boring, unimportant piece on the re-pavement of the parking lot instead of music reviews, which she gives to Louise. To Paris' dismay, Rory excels even with the dull topic and the advisor (teacher) tells Paris to take advantage of such a talented writer.
The 75th anniversary addition causes stress for both Rory and Paris, but it should be noted that Rory's stress comes largely from Paris.
At a time of peace, Rory helps Paris with editing one of Louise's pieces. It's noted then that Louise uses pictures of eyes for "I."
