Story[]
Hanlin Charleston is the headmaster of Chilton, Rory's high school. He is stern, set in his ways and has a specific, non-malleable worldview, much like Richard Gilmore. He has frequent run-ins with Lorelai about Rory's education. Their first and most intense confrontation comes about after Rory misses an important exam by 15 minutes and Charleston refuses to let her take it.
He and his wife are old friends with Emily and Richard Gilmore. He plays golf with Richard regularly, and his wife, Bitty, is on the Symphony fundraiser board with Emily.
